A Blind Ali'

Nite' felt a moments guilt leaving the talkative sack behind, but then the thrill of leaping from roof to roof in the cool nights air left no room for remorse.
Tonight would be the last time for a while that he would be heading for the thieves den, he was sure that this time he would make it in un-noticed.
That first night he'd been so sure of himself, dis-armed all the traps and avoided all the watchers; or so he'd thought. All but little Alison, blind since birth but with hearing that could pin point the type of coin dropped in a crowded tavern. For the past few days Nite' had been honing his talents; he would never be the best at anyone thing in a guild but he could tumble better than any climber, climb better than any pick pocket and move more silently than any listener. But could he move more silently than any listener could hear....
He landed off to the side in the shadows, she waved and tossed him a candy laughing.
One blind Ali' he could never avoid.

His training had gone well, by helping out on a few jobs he had come out with around the same gold as he started. Minus the 50gold he had slipped to the cooks where Marlon was staying - boy was growing fast and needed feeding and the 50gold in tips he had secretly paid for Sereena -she did move well...
He hoped tonight that his other business could be concluded, he'd asked the quartre-master for several spools of fine wire that could be staked out and linked to an alarm.
He'd also scored himself some high quality leather armour and another ring which supposedly helped protect the wearer. If all was sorted he would feel safer but poorer by 3160gold.
Maybe the sack was right he needed to get back out there and acquire...
He'd go talk to Volkon and Bastien see if they were up for another lil adventure......

What’s In Me For It?

As Nitendae pulls on his dark-grey jerkin, the leather backpack slumped in the corner of the room calls out.
"Are you leaving?"
The half-elf stops momentarily and sighs.
"I’m only going to the market and it doesn’t warrant taking you with me."
"Hey, I don’t weigh much and I could be useful. I’m carrying loads of useful stuff and I could help carry more!"
Biting his tongue, Nitendae smiles instead.
"How? You’re so stuffed full of ‘useful’ equipment that, despite your enchantments, there’s no more space for even an apple or bag of dried sultanas!"
The magical haversack sags quietly for a moment.
"It’s just that I’m sooooo bored. When are you planning on going on another adventure?"
It’s Nitendae’s turn to pause.
"I’m not sure. Perhaps it’s time I had a chat with the others…"

D&D-conomics

Assuming you all shared the Baron's reward equally, you all had 3,000gp plus whatever money you had left over from your original creation.

The magical loot was divvied up lopsidedly but hopefully I can redress that a bit in the second adventure.

I think the magic was allocated thus:

Volkon:

+3 Greatsword of flaming burst.

Bastien:

+1 Suit of Full-Plate armour (Light fortification)
+ 1 Animated heavy metal shield

Nitendea:

Scroll of Gaseous form
Scroll of Fireball
+1 Dagger of returning
Ring of Water Walking

This leaves two items unaccounted for:

Isaack the intelligent Heyward’s handy haversack
And the +1 Great axe of Throwing

These items can be allotted to one of the characters (and Henchmen) or easily sold for a surprisingly large amount of gold.

Great Axe: 4,160gp approx.*
Haversack: 6,150gp approx.* **

*(Depending on who’s negotiating.)
**(And if Issack agrees to be sold.)

You’re also free to buy some new mundane and magical gear with any cash you have.

Nitendea has already given Marlon 200gp for his transference training from lowly Warrior to bona fide Fighter.

As Bastien has a new set of magical (self fitting) Full-plate armour, Marlon has asked for his old set.

The resale price of his original Full plate is 750gp.

Marlon is also asked Bastien for an additional 200gp for size adjustments because he’s as big as he is dumb.

This effectively means that Bastien will be lending Marlon 950gp.

Therefore, Marlon will already be in debt to Bastien and Nitendea to a total of 1,150gp.

Sereena has asked for nothing.

When you next go adventuring however, they’ll be expecting a half share of everything you find. Including some of the magic.

Sereena is currently earning her bed and board, dancing in the ‘Rampant Unicorn’ while Marlon is bunking at the Moorcock combat school while training.

Party Favours

There’s nothing that Sereena wants beyond some ‘big strong boys’ to protect her but Marlon has his eyes on Bastien’s old armour.
After Sereena’s encouragement, the newly graduated Fighter, accompanied by the sorceress, seeks the Cleric Bastien out.
“Um… Master Bastien… Would you… Er… Considers passing me on your ol’ full-plate armour… Like as an advance on me future earnings?”
The armoured cleric just looks at the burly Fighter for a moment.
Marlon had already taken a hefty chunk of coin from Nitendea for his combat training.
Sensing Bastien’s concern, Marlon tries to justify his request.
“I’d rather just borrows it but as I’m a bit bigger than you, it’ll need some adjustin’ by the Smithy. I just figures that the longer I can keep standing, the better it’ll be for everybody else.”
Bastien nods sagely at the obvious truth.
Still, that armour took him years to save up for. It cost him a fortune!
“Is that all you want?”
Marlon bites his tongue but, after a few moments, Sereena pipes up.
“He'll obviously need some coin to pay the Smithy for the resizing.”
Bastien sighs.
“And how much will that cost?”
Marlon finds his voice again.
“He said, if he can have a week to do it, it’ll be ‘just’ 200 gold coins.”
Bastien’s face is an unreadable mask, so Marlon tries to persuade him further.
“He said that it was a bargain!”

When Priests are stupider than Barbarians

David hasn’t updated his character yet but it’s safe to say that the Half-Elf Nitendea will be doing all the thinking and talking for his Human associates.
Bastien the Cleric is now dumber than Volkon the Barbarian.
That said, he’s just as pretty.
He’s also still as smart as Marlon.
The Henchman Meat-shield.
What’s really scary is that the smartest member of the party is now Issack.
The enchanted backpack!

Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger

Immediately upon awakening I could tell that something was different, that something had changed, but I couldn't work out what. I felt uncomfortable and a bit dense. Like a hangover but without the headache or the gaps in my memory. Meh, it's probably nothing. Maybe a little concussion, but I doubt it'll last.

The recent adventure had seemed to have done me the world of good physically, though. I'd always been healthy and strong but after what we'd been through recently I expected to be in worse shape. As I checked over my bumps and bruises I noticed that they had completely subsided.

I got dressed and found my usually loose fitting jerkin was tight against my chest and arms. I stretched and flexed just to admire the way my toned biceps rippled and threatened to burst out my sleeves. I'd need some new clothes.

Feeling pretty happy with myself I walked to the basin and splashed the cold water over my face. Drying off I looked in the mirror and tried to straighten my hair like usual, but it just wouldn't stay where it was supposed to. It was really annoying, and...

What?

What's going on in the mirror?

THERE'S A PIMPLE ON MY FACE!

And what's going on with the patchy stubble?

And now I look closely, my jawline isn't as chiselled as it used to be.

Maybe this adventuring has taken its toll after all...

Bastien Pinefall is Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger. But also uglier and stoopider.
Switched a couple traits around and levelling up leaves him with:
STR: 16 (+1 after switching some traits)
DEX: 12
CON: 16 (+1 after levelling up)
INT: 8 (-2 after switching some traits)
WIS: 16
CHA: 8 (-2 after switching some traits)
