“Teala is dead?”
The oldest of the three female Dragon disciples, rolls her
slitted eyes.
“How is this even possible? Fluttin’s pet Beholder had tunnelled
undetected below the main orc cavern. The Deurgar miners had expertly
compromised the cavern above and the Death worshippers, the Drow and our
minions were in place?”
The other two, scaled and bald-headed, black cloaks grimace,
showing clearly, their pointy teeth.
“She underestimated that accursed cleric of Fharlanghn.”
Silence covers the hunched figures for stretched-out minutes
until the eldest of the three breaks the silence.
“Teala underestimated the very cleric that, not only captured
General Akbarr, but managed to burn him to death?”
She pauses again but isn’t expecting any response this time
and instead fills the silence herself.
“She convinced us that she could, not only capture the skull, but finally put an end to the interfering barbarian, the wide-eyed war-priest
and the mongrel elven thief. We allowed her to delay stealing Thereanthor’s
skull for nothing. No, less than nothing! We don’t even have the skull and
worse… There’s every chance they’ve persuaded that idiot orcan chief; Obdurate to destroy
it!”
The older dragon disciple, Beeryl, unfurls her bat-like
wings for a moment, before continuing.
“All that nonsense we fed their gnomish spies about the ‘Blood
moon’. All those lies we spread just to convince those interfering dragon
haters, they'd have a chance to stop us. All that to just trick ourselves again?
We’re no better than that arrogant idiot; Akbarr. We did nothing but waste our
time and throw away our advantage!”
Sensing another breath coming, the youngest of the three;
Indigoa, risks an interruption.
“Vital though the skull was to our plans, it wasn’t our only
option. We still have another possibility. Another hope.”
Got a bit ahead of myself here. I'll try to write up the Party/Orc situation soon.
