Ch- ch -ch- changes

As the orcs back away from the slaughtered duergars and the clamour of battle died down, Bastien flies back up on high to survey the devastation wrought inside the caldera. Looking down he sees the tattered corpse of the lizard woman who had confronted him in the air, and swoops down to stand at her side.

As the dust from his landing settles he gazes at the body and notices she is still breathing in quick, shallow gasps. With hatred written on her scaly visage her lips move, the words imperceptibly quiet as her strength fades.

Time stands still as Bastien stared into the middle distance.
He's come a long way from the naive disciple he used to see in the mirror. Just recently he has become so much more reckless... Trying alien foods, even taking to bed with orc women! But beyond even this he has become violent in the manner he has dealt with his enemies. The way he has had to deal with his enemies.

Fahrlanghn teaches that life is a journey and that change is inevitable. Bastien has come to realise that the evil arrayed in front of him will not respond to softness, and they will not stop in their quest to end the world unless they are stopped first. He must fight fire, with fire.

Another gurgled breath from the lizard wakes Bastien from his reverie and he drops to his knees. Focused again, he leans in as if to hear her last words, the sad look upon his face raising the smallest hint of hope in her slit eyes.

But instead of soothing her passing, a grim determination sets itself across Bastien's face as he places his mouth against her scaly ear and whispers harshly "Tell Akbar I hope he still burns, when you meet him in hell". Her pupils dilate in sudden shock and horror as Bastien's sentence is punctuated by the cracking of her spine as he snaps her neck.

Bastien stands slowly and moves to rejoin his companions as they attempt to pacify the still raging orcs. His jaw set, and his resolve to defeat the evil cultists of Nerull stronger than ever.

<Bastien's alignment has changed to Chaotic Neutral>

  4. So, True Neutral to Neutral Good to True Neutral again and then to Chaotic Neutral?
I'd like to see a progress chart predicting Bastien's final alignment outcome.
