Many valuable objects were left behind in
Bastien’s haste to return his prize to his Abbot in the priory but you still
made some impressive gains.
Am I right in assuming the below?
Bastien: Full-plate
armour of improved silence +3
Light crossbow +2 of Seeking
Sereena: Ring
of chameleon power
Demitasse: Light
metal spiked shield of bashing +3
Masterwork
Light Crossbow
Marlon: Longsword
of Mighty Cleaving +3
(+
Bastien’s old Lightly Fortified Plate mail +1)
Issack: 1
potion of invisibility?
Hopefully, the 30,000gp limit boons (when
you make your decisions) will redress the imbalance…
After selling (via the priests) the spell books, unwanted
minor magical shields and swords and masterwork items, you have an individual coin
grand total of:
Volkon: 104pp / 1475gp / 86sp / 47cp
Bastien: 104pp / 1475gp / 86sp / 47cp
Nitendae: 104pp / 1475gp / 86sp / 47cp
Marlon: 52pp / 738gp / 43sp / 24cp
Sereena: 52pp / 738gp / 43sp / 24cp
Demitasse: 52pp / 738gp / 43sp / 24cp
Actually I'm not so happy with that.
ReplyDeleteI would actually want to take the Chameleon power ring.
While I understand that it might be useful to Serena, it would be just as useful to me. She is not actually a rogue after all.
And with me becoming potentially more stealthy with (soon to come) nice stealthy armour, it would be very handy.
Plus it is magic and I wants it.
Call me old fashioned, but I'm an old-school D&D player and I was never that comfortable with high value magic going to NPCs. Especially as I got none of the plunder.
I dont want Volkon to go all 'gollum' on us so if its that precious he can have it..:-}
ReplyDeleteGonna seam weird Bastien tip toeing around silently in a tin suit, its getting harder for me to be the one not noticed...:-{
Fine by me. As the header suggests, I thought it odd too.
ReplyDeleteVolkon gets the ring of Chameleon power!
(Still be aware that a lack of reward leads to a lack of loyalty from henchmen...)
Actually David, if Nite wants it, it is his. I just didn't want it going to Serena.
ReplyDeleteAnd, "lack of loyalty" from henchmen. Ha! I don't trust Serena in the slightest, and I never expect loyalty from her. 1250gp+ not enough? Well, sod her then!
Marlon on the other hand, deserves protection. I expect him to stand in the front-line and I need him to take the blows. Demi too. He is essential to me, and being able to help more with long range attacks makes him more than a medic.
PS: Actually, Serena was in fact very handy last adventure, but it was almost entirely due to the wand of lightning bolts we gave her. A chameleon ring would not give us a party anything but paranoia.
PPS: You forgot about the spell books. Did she not get her fill of magic from them?
last time she got a wand of lightning bolts and the gloves of storing.
ReplyDeleteI've passed on the returning dagger to her, kinda think shes doing ok
dont think the spellbooks were useful to her. shes a sorceress and knows spells. not a mage who learns.
ReplyDeleteYeah, she is doing MORE than OK. Considering here actual contribution to the party. And here extremely sneeky ways.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, so David, is Nite taking the ring? I know his hide is already exceptional, but this would make it EPIC!
On a counter argument you could do with some help sometimes on a stealthy mission. No? A bit of muscle is always handy. But i have to say I couldn't back up the Hide with Move Silently! So I'm not sure how useful I'd be ;)
i agree with the stealthy help option, i currently have two rings anyway.
ReplyDeleteBastien now has +10 to move silently, but still only +5. But he does have the 'silence' spell which gives a 20ft radius... Then again, moving is only part of the story. You also need to be hidden and we all know Kirk's fondness for enemies with a good sense of smell...
ReplyDeleteAssuming that Marlon now has the chainmail, he doesn't need Bastien's old Full Plate +1. It's probably worth passing that on to Demitasse instead...
ReplyDeleteRegarding the ring : so we are agreed then, Volkon takes the Ring of Chameleon power?
ReplyDeleteThis gives him +10 on his hide roll and the ability to "Disguise Self" as often as he wants.
All very well, but fail my move silently and I'm done for!
True; The Ring and Armour (would have) worked well in tandem.
ReplyDeleteShame (for me) that General Akbarr didn't get a chance to use them.
Also...
What Chainmail does Marlon have?
:S
I thought in Marlon's post he asked for some magic chainmmail?
ReplyDeleteMarlon asked for a Flesh golem but was refused.
ReplyDeleteHe did wonder afterwards, if he maybe should have asked for 'a magic helmet or something' though.
Maybe you're thinking of Volkon? He requested 'Celestial chainmail'.
Or Maybe Lord Akbarr's war horse, who had some horse sized chainmail +1?
Marlon would really appreciate Bastien's old +1 magic platemail.
:)
:)
I probably am thinking of volkon. Marlon's more than welcome to old platemail.
